TRA 2010: International Cooperation Special Session

During the TRA 2010 (Transport Research Arena) which took place from 07 to 10 June.a Special Session “Road Transport Research cooperation between Europe and ICPCs ”  was organised on Thursday, June 10, 2010 – from 14:30 to 17:00.

 

Special Session description:

 

Road Transport Research cooperation between Europe and ICPCs will address the results of cooperation projects and further elaborate on research opportunities between Europe and International Cooperation Partner Countries (ICPCs). The EC-funded projects SIMBA and SIMBA II initiated road transport research cooperation between the EU, Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa to address worldwide transport challenges affecting the environment, road safety, mobility and efficiency. VIAJEO and STADIUM projects, successful follow-ups to the SIMBA projects, are R&D and demonstration projects which will develop and demonstrate functionalities which will contribute to improved strategic mobility management. The moderator will be Patrick Mercier-Handisyde (European Commission, DG Research). Speakers will include Vincent Blervaque (ERTICO – ITS Europe), Adewole Adesiyun (FEHRL), Jens Peder Kristensen (KeyResearch), Maurizio Tomassini (ISIS) and Monica Giannini (Pluservice).
